The Australian Resuscitation Council (Queensland Branch) is the Queensland branch of the Australian Resuscitation Council, supporting the promotion, teaching and practice of high-quality resuscitation throughout Queensland.

Our focus is simple: helping people develop the knowledge, skills and confidence to respond when a life is at risk. Effective resuscitation can make the difference between life and death, and timely action by bystanders, first responders and health professionals is an essential part of the chain of survival.

Supporting resuscitation in Queensland

The Queensland Branch provides a forum for people and organisations with an interest in resuscitation to connect, share knowledge and contribute to the ongoing development of resuscitation practice. We aim to bring together health professionals, first responders, educators, volunteers, researchers and members of the wider community who share an interest in improving resuscitation outcomes.

We support the work of the Australian Resuscitation Council and its evidence-informed guidelines, while providing a Queensland focus through local education, professional development, events and engagement.

Education, awareness and collaboration

Resuscitation is everyone’s business. While health professionals and emergency responders have an important role, members of the public are often the first people able to respond when an emergency occurs.

The Queensland Branch seeks to promote greater awareness of CPR, defibrillation and effective emergency response, while supporting those who teach and practise resuscitation across Queensland. Through education, workshops, professional activities and collaboration with other organisations, we aim to strengthen the capacity of Queensland communities to respond confidently in an emergency.

Get involved

We welcome people from a broad range of backgrounds who share an interest in resuscitation. Whether you are a health professional, student, first responder, volunteer, educator or simply interested in improving your knowledge of resuscitation, there are opportunities to become involved with the Queensland Branch.
